Your birth details are used
for your chart only.

Yuen Chi Lab (“we”) handles personal data in accordance with the Personal Data (Privacy) Ordinance of Hong Kong. This policy explains what we collect, how we use it, and your rights. If this English version differs from the Chinese version, the Chinese version prevails.

What we collect

Account

When you sign in with Google or an email login link, we receive your email address. There is no password, and we do not receive anything else from your Google account.

Chart details

Charts and readings need: the date and time of birth (or of your question), sex, your place of birth or current location (only the longitude and time zone are used, for true solar time), and the question type you choose. If you allow your phone's location, it is used only to work out the longitude.

Saved and shared results

When you save a result as a link, we keep the chart settings, the result as shown, and any thumbs-up / thumbs-down you give each point. If you ask us to email the link to you, we send it to the address you provide.

Invitations and credits

Invitation codes, accounts opened through an invitation, and your free reading credits.

Technical data

To run the service, our server logs the time and content of requests. Your sign-in is kept in a cookie for up to 180 days.

How we use it

• To draw your charts and give Yuen Chi Readings;
• To run sign-in, free credits and invitation rewards;
• To improve our reading rules from thumbs-up / thumbs-down counts, without identifying you;
• To answer your enquiries;
• Once paid plans begin, to process payments and receipts.

We never sell your personal data, and we do not use your birth details for direct marketing.

Sharing with third parties

Only as needed to provide the service: the sign-in provider (Google), our email delivery service, our hosting provider, and, once paid plans begin, our payment providers. Payment providers handle your card details directly; we never store full card numbers. We may disclose data where the law requires it.

How long we keep it

Account data is kept while your account exists. You can ask us to delete your account at any time; your personal data is deleted with it, except records the law requires us to keep.

Your rights

Under the Ordinance you may ask to access and correct the personal data we hold about you. For access, correction or deletion, email [email protected]. As the Ordinance allows, we may charge a reasonable fee for a data access request.

Security

Traffic between you and the service is encrypted with HTTPS. We take reasonable steps to protect your data, but no online transmission can be guaranteed completely secure.

Under 18s

If you are under 18, please use the service with the consent of a parent or guardian.

Changes

We may update this policy from time to time and will announce significant changes on the site or in the service.
